GDPR PRIVACY NOTICE AND POLICY

The Swalecliffe and District Dog Training Society (SDDTS) is committed to the protection of the privacy and personal information of its members and fully complies with the General Data Protection Regulation, known as the GDPR, which came into effect on 25 May 2018, in the UK.

SDDTS does not intend to use members’ personal data for marketing purposes therefore current full members of the Club need do nothing as these charges will automatically apply to them. This policy explains how and why SDDTS collects your personal data and how it is used.

What data we collect

The personal data collected on the ​Registration Form, completed by individuals, is the member’s name, home address, email address, landline and/or mobile phone telephone numbers, dog’s or dogs’ name(s), age(s), breed(s) and vaccination history. This information is used in confidence and is stored securely.

How we store & how long we retain your data

Membership data is securely stored as manual records. It is controlled by the SDDTS for the purposes of providing Membership services and events and to uphold the Club constitution and to comply with Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.

Personal data will be retained in accordance with statutory requirements, and Kennel Club requirements and recommendations. A Register of SDDTS Members is retained for seven years and individual Registration forms are retained for one year after a member has left the Club.

What rights you have over your data

A Member can contact the SDDTS (via the Membership Secretary) at any time to exercise the right to request access to or to update their personal data. At any point a member can cancel their Membership of the Club and thereby withdraw their consent for the Club to keep in touch and to hold their personal data.
